Veterans’ Day is the perfect time to remember and give thanks to all the brave men and women who have served in our military. It is also a great time to celebrate America! I have a few ideas for you!Did you know there is a ceremonial flag retreat that happens late afternoon around dinner time at Disney’s Magic Kingdom? In recent times, the flag retreat has taken place around 5:00 PM. Make sure to gather in town square on Main Street, U.S.A. to catch the patriotic ceremony filled with trumpet fanfare, the philharmonics rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner, and the removal of the flag by the color guard. The flag is handed to a special guest veteran at the end of each tribute.
Visit Liberty Square inside Disney’s Magic Kingdom and be transported back into the colonial era. Liberty Square is home to the Hall of Presidents which is an attraction that pays homage to the past and current president of the United States of America. This 25-minute show walks you through America’s history. During this show, listen closely to Lincoln’s pivotal Gettysburg Address and meet all 45 presidents!Travel the world at Epcot and visit the World Showcase which consists of 11 different countries. Visit the patriotic American Adventure Pavilion inside America at World Showcase and listen to the animatronics’ stage show of American history! You can also hear the beautiful Voices of Liberty, an 8-part a cappella singing group, perform a variety of American folk songs in the rotunda at The American Adventure Pavilion.Are you an active military member or have retired?
